Maya the Park Designer
You are designing a skate park for your city. The city council needs two numbers before they can approve your plan: how much fence to buy and how much concrete to pour.
Design a rectangular skate park. Find its perimeter (fence needed) and area (concrete needed).
Real world: Architects, landscapers, and builders calculate area and perimeter every day to estimate materials and cost.
BUILD IT
Drag the corners of the skate park to size it how you like. Each square on the grid = 1 meter. Count how many meters of fence you would need to go all the way around.
How many meters of fence does your park need? (Count all 4 sides)
